Doors Open Owen Sound:

Early June

With pride in its heritage, the City of Owen Sound participates in the Doors Open Ontario program each May. The doors of many of the City's most intriguing natural and cultural heritage sites are open to the public. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., sites have included places of worship, museums, art galleries, the cemetery mausoleum, library, parks, waterfalls, theatre, and historic buildings.

Canada Day:

July 1

Celebrate Canada's Birthday at Kelso Beach. A day full of music, fun and activities for the entire family is topped off by spectacular fireworks.

Harbour Nights Concert Series:

July & Aug

During the summer months, local bands perform along the waterfront, behind the Visitor Centre on 1st Avenue East. Festival of Northern Lights:

mid Nov - early January

Over 50,000 twinkling lights and over 350 illuminated Christmas displays sparkle along the banks of the Sydenham River and in downtown Owen Sound nightly 5 pm to 11 pm from mid-November to early January each year. The whole city takes on a festive feeling as the light show continues on the M.S. ChiCheemaun berthed in the harbour, at the popular snow-clad Harrison Park and on the homes of city residents.
