Barrie has some great opportunities to watch somebody ELSE sweat it out, with some top-level competitive athletes.
Baseball
If you want to watch baseball, you can catch the Barrie Baycats (705-321-1664), who play in Midhurst (drive 5 km to the Hwy #26 and #27 split, and then on #26 for 2 km)

Built in 1965, Barrie Speedway was the first paved stock car racing facility north of Toronto, originally with just a tight 1/4 mile oval,
which was widened and the banking was increased in 1999, along with upgraded specatator facilities including wheelchair accessibility.
In 2004, the track was converted from a 1/4 oval into a 1/3 mile tri-oval!
