Barrie Transit bus General Info
You can get additional copies Ride Guide from any Barrie Transit driver, from City Hall, the Barrie Transit Terminal or by calling Barrie Transit (705) 739-4209. You can also view transit schedules & maps online
  • Get on the bus at the front door.
  • Deposit the exact fare or present the appropriate pass.
  • Drivers do not carry money and cannot make change
  • Senior citizens or Barrie high school students should show appropriate ID card.
  • Exit through the rear doors.

Transfers
When planning to transfer from one bus to another to reach your destination, request a free transfer from the driver when you get onto the bus. Transfers must be used by the person to whom it was issued and is good for 60 minutes from time of issue (in any direction, on any route) Even return trips, as long as you get on retun bus before your transfer expires (watch the schedules!)

Night Stops
Passenger can disembark from the bus closer to his/her destination than the nearest marked bus stop, andytime after dusk (or 9:00 p.m., if earlier) until the end of evening service. Passengers can ask the driver to stop at any safe location along the route, but you should let the driver know at least one stop prior.

Passengers are requested to deposit the exact fare when boarding the bus, since drivers do not carry change.

Barrie Accessible Community Transportation Services (BACTS)
B.A.C.T.S.provides door to accessible door for persons with mobility difficulties on either a temporary or permanent basis. This service is offered to those who have functional mobility problems, and are physically unable to climb or descend stairs in a conventional transit bus or unable to walk a distance of 175 meters (approximately 600 feet). Applications are available from the B.A.C.T.S. office or any B.A.C.T.S. driver and can be mailed in.

Elderly persons are not automatically eligible for BACTS service, and only persons physically unable to board public transit vehicles are eligible for this service. Blind persons who are able to board public transit are not eligible for BACTS service. Emotional problems and/or mental disability may entitle a person for the BACTS service only if they have a physical disability that prevents them from boarding a public transit vehicle.

The one-way fare for any passenger or their attendant is $2.50, and a convenient 10-ride pass cards are available from B.A.C.T.S. drivers or the B.A.C.T.S. office. (Fares subject to change without notice.)

Orillia Transit

The Orillia Transit System provides service on four routes throughout the City of Orillia. Buses operate weekdays 6:15 am to 6:15 pm, and Saturdays 8:45 am to 5:45 pm . Buses leave downtown Terminal (located at Peter & Mississaga Streets) about every half hour.
  • Buses operate daily except Sundays and statutory holidays.
  • Transfers may only be made at the terminal.
  • oloured numbers on bus stop signs indicate bus arrival time (in minutes after the hour).
  • Free inbound service from all 'Dash' stops to the terminal. (no transfers provided)
Orillia Students Monthly Bus Pass
$40 monthly passes are available to students at: O.D.C.V.I., Park Street, Twin Lakes, Patrick Fogarty, OASIS, Georgian College and The Learning Centre. Passes can be bought at Orillia City Centre, 50 Andrew St. S., and must have the user's anme in ink on the front of the card., and be presented with Student ID Card with photo.

Special Group Pass are handy for day care professionals, teachers, and sports coaches, and are good for One Way travel between 10:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m. The fares are:
  • Group 1 - (10-15 children + 3 Adults $16.00)
  • Group 2 - (16-20 children + 4 Adults $ 21.00)
  • Group 3 - (21-30 children + 5 Adults $ 26.00)

    Orillia Wheelchair Limousine Service (OWLS) Special Needs Bus
    For those withdisabilities that make them unable to use traditional public transit, the OWLS transit if $2.75 per person. It operates Sunday to Friday 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Sat. 12:00 - 5:00 P.M., and after hours - Monday to Saturday 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. General Inquiries : 325-8434 and Bookings : 327-0411

    Collingwood

    Transit runs Monday to Friday 7 am - 6 pm, and Saturdays 9 am - 6 pm., and Sunday 9 am - 5 pm, with service very half hour. There is a COLLTRANS terminal (with 2 shelters) at the corner of Second St. and Pine Street, beside the Municipal parking lot.

    The Colltrans Bus Service costs $1.00 a ride, with 10-ride Ticketsbooks for $9.00. Children (under 48") ride for free when accompanied by a fare paying adult.

    Drivers will not make change for a bill larger than $5.00, and tickets may be purchased on the bus or at the Municipal Office.

    Owen Sound Transit

    The Transit service is a four routes operate daytimes Monday through Saturday. All four routes provide ½ hour service from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, bus services operate between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm with ½ hour service on the East Bay Shore and Brooke routes and one-hour service on the Core and Cross Town routes.
